Using The Joint Jigger... continued
Now we’ll cut a diagonal tube.
We measure the next station centerline of tube to the intersection centerline of the tube we installed. It’s 16 3”. Cut the tube 16 3” long and debur.
Lay the tube in position and get your angle. Remember 90 degrees or more.
Install the tube in the Jigger and adjust parallel. Secure with Vise-Grip.
Now adjust the centerline to intersect the Hole Saw centerline and cut.
Remove and debur.
Lay the tube in place and duplicate the next angle.
Prepare for the cuts of the other end. Do it the same way.
Centerline Hole Saw to centerline of tube.
Again, use a short tube and rotate parallel. Check the centerline of the Hole Saw to tube again, that it hasn’t moved. Tighten clamp.
Make the cut.
Now, before you loosen the clamp on the tubing, make a mark or tape an index mark next to the clamp jaws.
You will rotate the tube 180 degrees for the last cut.
Again, use a short tube and rotate 180 degrees parallel, keeping the index mark next to the clamp jaws. Don’t worry that it doesn’t look centerline.
Tighten clamp and make the last cut. Remove and debur.
Install.
Very accurate cuts can be made
That's it guys.... Now go out and start measuring, cutting and notching your tubing.
